***WOUNDED WARRIORS***

WOUNDED WARRIORS

First level of treatment, bandages.  Triage is the next level.
Next, The Golden Hour which is one hour, they have a chance.

The Medicine Man will get them to the proper medical care.
They are brought to the Cash Hospital or Surgical Unit.
Freedom Bird will take them to the hospital.  Make sure bleeding
has stopped.

Under the Geneva Convention, no weapons can be on the choppers.
Terrorist shoot at anything flying.  They have to fly evasively.  They
try to save whoever goes in.

Most of the time they are under attack but they don’t stop saving
lives.  Alarm Red meaning eminent danger but the doctors stay at
the soldier’s bedside.

When chopper arrives, they go out and get them and race to the ER.
They tell the soldiers what they are doing because of the fear they
have. Most of them don’t want to go home.  They want to go back out
with their troops.

In taking them by plane they have to try and keep the wounded soldiers
alive until they get to their destination.  They transform a C141 from
tactical to practical.  They need to move the injured.  Flight Medics are
ready.

Litter patients first.  Next ambulatory.  Last critical patients because
they will be the first to leave the plane.  Plane goes dark for tactical
takeoff.  When Iraq airspace is cleared, then lights go back on.  Six
hours later touchdown in Germany.  The soldiers will get continued
treatment there.

Maxwell Hall is for the Wounded Warriors.  Counseling, eating, sleeping
and change of life issues are discussed there.  When they go home there
is no one to talk to.  Maxwell Hall helps them to adjust to life before
going home.

I hope people don’t forget our troops in uniforms.
