INNER THOUGHTS
(WHILE ON THE ISLAND)
The longer you're on the Island the more you get noticed. People focus on you, especially if you've recently had family become part of their family. Even more so if you have family on the island simultaneously with you. Well I'm the lucky dude that suffers from both cases and what makes these situations taken an elevated position is the size of my family bloodline.
You're just mindin' your business then out of the blue individuals come up with names to describe you. Like my oldest brother, a jerk and devilish smile, the man is so huge that they called him the green mile. My older brother and me lucked out it seems. We always ended up with names that locked us up in a team. Names like those cornbread fed mofo's or craig and debo. Sometimes somethin' simple like THE WIGGINS BOYS or THE BASH BROTHERS cause with the sticks we brought the noise.
It seems like half the island respects us while the other half is scared, and they know they're on the island so they get tough to show no fear. The DI'S are similar in a different sort of way. Some of them use their authority to play their mind games and try to break us down...I guess we're the new "Mess with me" model of recruit. But the more I think about it the more it makes sense; MARINES like challengin' large obstacles to help keep them convinced that they are indeed the best of the best. Now I'd be lyin' if I said I didn't slip a bit from time to time, but I never lost it. Slippin' is completely different from loosin' it. But my older brother, that cool "brother", is just that..cool, calm and collected. Thoroughly respected by me with a capital "T". I see him slip from time to time but not nearly as severely as me. Now I see, he has the patience while me and oldest, we hate waiting. But that's what I'm here for, to explore my abilities and earn some money in the process. After all...my SDI said it best; "THROUGH PAIN COMES COMPLIANCE".
